I have some like that in my collection. Old shotgun cleaning rod.

I have Great Grandpa's old double barrel, and Dad's 1930's Parker. Both have the same wooden cleaning rods. The end fittings are the same thread as modern rods.

I have never used any cleaning rod other than the one like in the pic.

I have, somewhere, a wooden jointed shotgun rod much like yours that was my father’s. Probably from the 1930s. But I have not seen it for a very long time. It was in sort of an olive drab heavy cloth pouch, I think it has Montgomery Wards stamped on the bag. It has a red swab also a brass slotted patch tip. I used it when I was a kid. I have several more modern aluminum shotgun rods. Don’t use them much as I no longer hunt or shoot clay birds.

I can find these at present. Think I have more somewhere. To me they are easier on the barrels.

I also have an old wooden shotgun rod that belonged to my father, still use it.

I have 2 sets with the original bags. Mine were
Marbles jointed rifle rods.

I have a recent manufacture (kleanbore?) that appears the same. I borrowed an original rod from my friend and was heading back to return it on my motorcycle, I saw one section fall off and to my horror, I watched it drop straight through the metal grate of the bridge, plunging like an arrow into the estuary. I was fortunate to find a vintage replacement.

I also have a set in the original bag but it's far from new now. I use it for every cleaning of my shotguns. It works very well and cost me nothing.
