old model 27 vs new version of 27

I paid $650 for a 27-2 8 3/8" in 2008 and I thought that I paid a reasonable price. It looked new even though it was made in 1977. It is one of my favorite shooters.

If I saw the one that you are talking about for $450, I would already have it.

soooo, you stole the 27-2,how much were they asking for the 48,if you don't mine me asking ,sounds like a good shop to deal with.

sqhead,

funny, that's what my friend said. the 48 was less than $400. but, it's still on lay-away.

I wouldn't call that group mediocre -- not at 25 yards. I'm assuming you were shooting offhand and not rested. For me, a group of that size offhand at that distance would be a keeper, anytime.

I'd get the 27-2.....while I still could get one.

New one? Resembles a 27.....a little......I guess. Regards 18DAI.

Agreed. The new Classic line is pretty much a cartoon rendition of the old S&W's.
