After reading through issues people have been experiencing with the M&P 10mm, I figured I'd share my positive experience with my sample size of one.

Today I went and picked up my new 4.6" model from my FFL. Brought it home, disassembled, cleaned, and lubed it up, and headed out back with a grab bag of various ammo.

I ran 50 rounds of Fiocci Range ammo 180 gr.
100 rounds of Underwood 200 gr. Fmj,
60 rounds of Underwood 140gr. Extreme Penetrators
20 rounds of G2G R.I.P. ammo
60 rounds of Winchester Silver Tip
40 rounds of Federal 180gr. Trophy bonded JSP
100 rounds of PMC bronze 170 gr.

Between my son and I, we had a total of zero malfunctions. To me it was a softer shooter than my G20.4, or my XDM 10 OSP.
I love this gun! My only concern are the plastic mounting plates for a red dot. For now I will be running just Irons.

So far my 4.6" has been 100% reliable. I hope no issues begin to present themselves.

I would bet that IF the C.O.R.E. system mounting plates prove to be problematic someone will come out with metal versions? That's an "IF"...

CHEERS!

P.S. I've had no problems with a GEN 1 M&P 40 PC C.O.R.E.

I've had zero problems with a Holosun 507 mounted on my M&P 10mm. It's been there for a couple hundred rounds, including sone mildly spicy handloads.

As long as the optic and plate are installed correctly and the fasteners maintain preload I don't see an issue.

Now, if the fasteners back out enough for them to lose the compressive load and suddenly the tiny screws start seeing a shear load, there's going to be problems. Which is what I think is behind the optics flying off pistols leaving behind broken fasteners.

That makes perfect sense. I was thinking of looking at the 507. Any idea what the difference between the C and K are?

Thumbs Up on the Holosun 507

Not intending to hijack a thread on the 10mm, but since you mentioned the Holosun 507, after trying some optics on friends and rental firearms, I recently purchased the Holosun HE507C-GR X2 with the 3 option reticle in green for my 9mm M&P Compact. As my first purchase in the optics market I am very satisfied with it. Zero in adjustments as well as switching between the different reticles is easy, and I find the green reticle easier and quicker to visually acquire than a red dot.

Different sizes and footprints. K version is for subcompact or micro compact pistols. For a full size M&P the C version is the best fit, and it uses the RMR footprint.
