One and seven tenths of an inch precipitation in the rain gauge over a period of seven days. Not being a farmer but just a gardener some things you don't appreciate the magnitude of. The amount of rain previously mentioned per acre in volume is substantial 46,162.3 gallons.

The magnitude of water that flows thru a small meandering creek is even impressive. Just think about the ponds, lakes, and rivers. Just idle thoughts for the day.

Meandering creeks become raging torrents, raging torrents fill basements, move barns, houses, destroy roads, etc., etc.

Can't get flood insurance, because the county will not conform to the standards, as they are only worried about their crop subsidies programs!

Not idle thoughts at all!
