I was at the range today, shooting my 16-4 (6") and my 625-8 JM Special when a friend walked up with a 627-0. This is a MOST interesting revolver. It is an "N" frame, has a 5" or 5.5" HEAVY full underlugged barrel, had a checkered top strap and barrel rib and a "solid" (no flutes) cylinder. On the side of the barrel it says " Model of 1989). It has a superb action, both double and single. All in all, a VERY nice piece.

It's so nice, I think I will have him stop by and I'll take some pictures of it.

No, it's NOT for sale, mores the pity...

Chad - I have always enjoyed your knowledgeable posts................

but have I told you that you were a DOG!

You've been flashing that picture lately and it's been killing me. Let me know if I can ever trade you out of it!

Hey Chad, whazzup with that rear sight? I've never seen one W/O the WO. Did you replace it?

I gotta take some shots of mine, but it's been ported and a few other things - heresey!

I'll take a few snaps tomorrow and post 'em.

My 629-4 did not have the outline either.

Yep! That's the revolver I was talking about. Was I wrong? I don't think so. That is one fine piece.

Just when I think that I have "everything I have ever wanted" something else "raises it's pretty head"... It's an addiction, I tell you, it's an addiction...

I didn't change the rear sight leaf and I believe it came from the factory like this, but I don't know for sure. I recently took a few "new to me" guns to the range and the 627-0 was one of them. If you shoot with two hands on the gun like I did, it's very pleasant to shoot (I wouldn't want to hold it up too long with one hand or carry it all day). It stays on target nicely (steady) and it really soaks up recoil because it's so heavy. The trigger was fine, but I was comparing it to a K-22 and a Gold Cup, so I would say it came in a close third. The trigger on the K-22 was superb and the gun behaved so nicely, it overshadowed the 627-0. No complaints with any of them, as they all performed flawlessly with the ammo I had.

We were casually shooting from about 25', mostly DA (except the GC). My older brother and a good friend were at the range with me, so it was a stellar day!
