One of my grail revolvers found = 27-7 PC

You take pretty good photos, Grinder! Great acquisition!

Thanks for the help st regis, much appreciated. One the the great benefits of this forum is the extra eyes out there shrinking the world for both collectors and dealers. In response to nightowl, I was successful in acquiring a 27-7 in 6.5 inch from a lead on this forum, thanks to vermillion, and discovering machtech on this forum has been greatly helpful as well.

She's going to be a shooter. It is unfired, but the estate lost the original case and she has a small scratch at the front of the yoke. It's #73 , if anyone has the 6 1/2" mate. Thanks for the positive comments and I also hope someone else gets hooked up with one of these because of this thread.

Thanks for posting the thread Grinder. I have my fingers and toes crossed on finding one of these. As a shooter you will this find a big change from your semi-autos, but it is supremely accurate and I think you are going to enjoy shooting this PC revolver.

Very very nice. I've ben looking for a 27-7 4" since I got the 6.5" #97. A 4" #97 is my grail. My 6.5" shoots great SA and DA. Everyone who shoots it wants to buy it. Enjoy yours Grinder.

That is correct, BAGXXXX are the four inch barrells and BNGXXXX are the 6.5 inch barrels, 100 each, all blue. Except this one, which is so wrong but I love it so much. Let it be my first picture post on this forum.

I don't mean any disrespect, I'm sure this is a desired piece for collectors and there are alot of people that love the looks of engraved guns... but, I just can't understand the attraction?

Engraved guns just seem like costume jewelry to me, with a very cheap "toy gun" look to them.

Am I in the minority here? I have seen a few that look ok, with very limited engraving - but it seems like "BLING" to me.

Again, sorry please don't take offense. It's just my opinion and we all know what they say ...

An opinion is like an "***hole" everybody's got one!

Grinder, that is an absolutely gorgeous gun! I would give my eye teeth for one of those (S&W PC 27-7 4" #170166. 8 shot moon clips). If anybody knows where I can get one, please let me know.

No offense taken ToeRag, I have a couple engraved pieces because of the model not the engraving. I have been searching for a 27-7 four inch for years and this is the only one I ever found so I had to buy it. It is wrong in so many ways so it does not letter. But the work is stunning, took someone a month or more of labor to achieve, and the result is what it is, a barbeque gun. The really interesting thing about this gun is someone spent a lot to make it like a 27-2 (pinned barrel, ejector shroud lock, and thumb piece, but it is a 27-7 8-shot. One of a kind. And thus why I am so still seeking a correct example.

I have a 6.5" 27-7 I use for ICORE and steel plate competition. It's a great gun and I would like to have another, but you little old lady collectors keep running up the prices.

Speaking of carmoney, the 27-7 came out in 2000 selling about $860.00. What was the price of gas then?
