Some years ago I acquired a pair of used Model 19's...cleaned them up, put them in the safe and shoot them once every blue moon. No, they're not NIB or even close...some bluing wear, handling marks, etc., but still nice M19s with great accuracy and wonderful triggers...

I'm a semi-auto guy and am considering doing something with these revolvers...but I'd like some input. What are these wheelguns worth?

M19-3. s/n 4K4xxx; 4-inch barrel.I believe this one was made in 1972...(?)

M19-4. s/n 73K9xxx; also a 4-inch. Original box, grips, papers and cleaning rod.I think this one is from 1980(?)

Yes, I have other revolvers, some of them S&Ws...these are great to shoot, but I'm retiring soon and might thin the heard.

I defer to the collective knowledge of the forum wizards...

Thanks!

Nice guns. Interested to hear what the Wizards"have to say. I haven't even seen a 19 locally in 8 months for sale. I hear others in their part if the country say they sit snd don't sell. They are my favorite gun so will be interested.

I put on my flack jacket for this one but here goes without looking down the barrel and checking lockup etc. These are retails in MA roughly

#1 $575.00- $625.00

#2 $650.00 - $750.00

Just my opinion now- retail rates

Pete

Close:

M19-3. s/n 4K4xxx = 1973
You can confirm this date with the SCSW, page 399.

M19-4. s/n 73K9xxx = 1981
The SCSW is too general in this range and will not line up with what I've given you here. But I know this date to be accurate, from other information available to me.

Those prices seem very Liw for here. On GB over Christmas there were several guns trying to be sold in the upper 800's with a lot of bluing missing. I doubt they sold but if they were local I would jump on these.
If they are as good as they look with no loss of bluing etc.

Great feedback guys..I appreciate the help.
The bluing is worn on these and the pics are iPhone-resolution.
I'll post more detailed ones shortly as attachments with better resolution/lighting.

Texas table gun show price.

19-3................$500.00-550.00
19-4 w/box......$525.00-550.00

Shooter grade 19's.
In buying/selling model 19's condition
becomes a large factor. Jillion made.
My estimate is generous.

Yeah they are. Pretty rough. I would think in the 400 450 range.

No matter how you look at it these are still model 19 combat magnum's after seeing your digital pics yeah the prices do shorten up a bit but around here with more poeple snapping up revolvers now-a-days these would not last in the case of the LGS that I work at. they would be gone within a week even at the low side of the pricing. These would honestly be considered great shooters and soemthing to hold on to.

I would definetly clean them up and show them some oil.

Good luck Pete

I don't remember the last time I saw a Model 19 going for less than $500.00 around here. As a matter of fact I recently sold a -4, that looked about like the first one pictured for $500.00 and it sold in less than 48 hours.

The one with the box...maybe 550-600.00 would be the asking price at my LGS. They'd probably get it.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback...as I said, I'm not a 'revolver guy' and I value your expertise...I suspected they would be around 450-500, but didn't know.

I'll clean and oil these up...I'll probably take these to the LGS sometime next week, but will post them on the Classified section of the forum this weekend at a reduced price if a Forum member is interested...

Just listed them in Classified...we'll see if any Forum member wants them.

Thanks!

Clean um up, and Ren Wax them.

I am astounded, at how Ren Wax GREATLY improves the appearance of guns.

Thanks to the counsel offered by the forum wizards, both Model 19s are sold pending funds today to forum members; both the buyers and the seller are happy with the transactions.

You guys are great!
