I live on a wooded lot, but there is no thick grass or weeds, just the normal stuff around objects that a mower can't get.
Anyway, I'm thinking of picking up a cordless trimmer.
Anyone have one?

Black and Decker!

A 20 volt Black and Decker works very well for me. Got it at Sears Black Friday sale in 2015. Came with two batteries; I have used just one so far. It easily cuts grass and weeds. (Weeds NOT in my yard!)

Have about 300’ linear feet of trimming to do before mowing. Initially it did not have capacity to do the whole job before recharging. Now it handles it easily. Key might(?) be charging the battery immediately after each use. That has worked for me...takes a few hours for the full charge.

Autofeed line works great, too. Usually a line cartridge lasts a full season of trimming.

Hope this is useful.

Be safe.

I have a Ryobi 40v 4ah battery unit.
I use it with the weedeater, edger, hedge trimmer, and blower attachments.
Not cheap, but a real workhorse and I haven't had any problems with it since I bought it early this year.
Uses .80 line which holds up really well.

I love mine. Gas engines HATE sitting around and mine does a lot of that. The farthest reaches of my yard make cords impractical.

I have the Ryobi+ 18V tools & batteries. Not really contractor quality but have done really well for me on around-the-house projects.

I had Ryobi 18V weed whacker, it just wasn't enough power for clumps of grass that only got trimmed 3 or 4 times a year! So I got the 40V Ryobi trimmer. It has plenty of oomph! When I sold the farm, I sold the 40V to a neighbor for 50% of what I paid for it the year before, he jumped on it very quickly! The 18V I gave to my Son-In-Law, he mows six rental properties and has 2 good gas powered trimmers, but when the 8 year old grandsons are helping, the boys are safe, yet the is enough oomph for regularly trimmed grass!

I got a Ryobi for Christmas a couple of years ago and it did OK around the house. The battery gave up, and I've returned to my Echo. To me, it's not worth the cost of a new battery.

The best one I have seen out there is the Stihl. They also have a hedgetrimmer that uses the same batterie and it is a monster

Echo split boom. BWAHAHAH!

IIRC I have 6 attachments for it.

Like The Big D I have a 20v Black and Decker. On a full charge I can use it twice. I have a 1/2 acre with 5 trees, house garage and two fences. The fences are 130ft long and 150ft long.

The misses loves her 40 volt Black and Decker. Light easy to handle and powerful. It's worth the little extra for the 40 IMHO. For big stuff the Stihl steps up like a champ.

I have a WORX battery powered trimmer. Got it from a TV ad. It works
great. I got 3 batteries so I would have plenty, but it only takes one to
do my yard. (But it's not a very big yard)
