Opinions on Harp Irish Beer

Hmmph. Well, I'm a pretty big beer gourmand. I'd say that my take on Harp Lager is that it's always better than I expect, but I don't expect much. And, for some reason, I never buy it. Not terrible, by any means, though.

Don't know if that's of any help to you whatsoever.

I used to drink it frequently, which means I like it. I just don't drink as much anymore. My first choice in beer is typically a stout, but i think Harp is a fine beer.

What really matters though, is whether you like it.

I don't buy it in the stores, don't know why, when at home I drink a light beer, Bud or Coors. However when I'm in a pub environment I like different heavier beers and often order Harp. Like the song says I LIKE BEER.

I like it on draft. Never had it in cans or bottles.

I've never refused one, but I don't go out of my way to find one either. The best thing about the micro-brewery revolution is that most areas now have their own little gem of a beer. And often in a variety of types. You just don't have to ship something in from God knows where to have a good beer.
I really don't care for for the "Corporate" brands anymore. They spend too much on advertising and management bonuses. The light beers are a joke but have been a tremendous cash cow for the big breweries. Just add water and spread some money around on a slick ad campaign with lots of babes and talking frogs and bingo, marketing earns their big bonus for the year! I'll admit though, the micros have forced the big boys to pay more attention to their product quality however.
The only exception this this is Guinness. I don't know of any other stout that will float another beer on top for a proper half and half. That's a special talent of Guinness!

while in the usaf in england we would have shandys in the summer..................harp's lager and rose's lime juice. very refreshing.

Beer is one of those select few things in life of which can be said "Some are much better than others, but I've never had a bad one, nor will I ever turn one down."

Drank roughly 1019 Harps on St. Paddy's Day and through the weekend. (Local gin mill was selling them for $2.00/bottle!!! :) )

For some reason, I cannot recall if I liked them. :p

Be safe.

Then you have never had a sun struck/skunky Miller Highlife or a sun struck Coronna.

The sad part is, people that drink Miller's know how it is supposed to taste and when it is skunky they know it, but the people that drink coronna's think it is supposed to taste like that and there is ton of it getting across the border each day.

Even though you asked - You don't want my opinion....

Ya live in Ireland? Then drink Irish beer, whiskey, coffee, etc.

Ya live here in the USA? Then support your fellow Americans!
The job you save may eventually be your own.

I like Harp but like others don't buy it for home rather drink it when on tap. It's very good, not heavy like Guiness, more like a Pilsner to me.
