Hello All,

This is my first post in some time. Just getting back into the revolver thing after a short break. I just ordered a S&W 632 Pro series in .327 Fed-Mag (2 1/8th inch barrel & night sights.) Its the first J frame to get my attention, (enough to shell-out for a NIB one...) since the .357 649. In my humble viewpoint here's why I made the purchase:

1- NO lock!
2- 2 1/8th inch barrel, (a hair longer than the standard 1 1/8 incher...but more concealable than the full 3" barrel.)
3- 6 shots in a J-frame, in a "real" self-defense caliber.
4- Stainless construction.
5- Can fire 4 different types of .32 ammo.

I know when these were first cataloged a BIG wait followed for availability...I am happy to say it seems like they are now stocked for those who want them. After dog-ear'in the S&W 2012 catalog...a question arises: Why are certain models offered without the internal lock and some with? For example:

Pro series models 442, 642, 640 & 632 all: no lock but...the Pro series model 60...with lock. Hhmmm...
To further muddy the waters...models 43C and 351C are sans lock, but the kit guns of the same frame size are internal lock offerings.

Now I know the IL is an issue beaten beyond dead, but with current S&W factory offerings now being produced without the IL, I would assume that to those that it mattered to...they would "vote" with their hard-earned cash.

I would appreciate any opinions on this matter. Thanks in advance...and all the best to you all.
