in thinning out the gene pool that is!

A couple of weeks ago the news reported that our youth found a way to "inhale" alcohol (booze) for a faster rush and possibly even deadlier results.

Today I hear where kids are putting rubbing alcohol all over their bodies and attempting to set it on fire. Now I wont be able to tell if the neighbors are having a BBQ or if I should call an ambulance.

I have to respect their imagination if not their intelligence!

It 'peers to me - -

our eddy-kashun system has it all bass-akwards!

Our present public education system tries hard to make sure EVERYONE'S self-esteem is not damaged. The end result is they are building false ego's galore.

When I went to school, the inferior feeling of being "the dumb bunny" was what drove many of us to try harder. The value of education was the thus taught to the individual.

Today's youth emerge from grade school with an ego & an attitude that their street smart will see them thru life. The only thing they are prepared for is the life of a thug or for the most menial labor job.

I have been told more times than I care to remember "I can run a computer & everything I need to know is on the 'net".

It's not what they don't know that's the problem, but rather "what they know that aint so".

I saw this in the local papers this week also.
Police officials warning parents about this new "Fad".
It's supposed to be all the rage on "You Tube" ??????
The kids douse themselves with rubbing alcohol or just a certain
body part like chest, leg, etc. then set it on fire for a cool video.
And i thought the stunt where they laid down on the center divider
of a highway at night was way out there.
Guess making a video with a lot of views or "hits" is worth dying
over for these dummies.
This world and the people in it never cease to amaze me.

A few years ago the "fad" was to have a emama (sp) of vodka to get drunk faster as the alcohol gets absorbed faster in the intestines. That,s pretty smart for being so stupid.

"And to think if they live long enough they will be voters."

I think they already are.

What about catchin' a buzz by lickin' a toad's back?

That was my generation's gift to stupidity (well one of them anyway)!

A couple days ago theresa and I were having lunch in a resturant that we havent been in only a couple times downtown. There were large picture windows faceing the street but I had my back to it. Theresa seen a youth of maybe 14 walk up to the window from the sidewalk peer in and do the most extream lewd act or pantomine that you can imagine! By the time she called my attention and I turned around he was stepping out of my sight. It took her awhile to describe exactly what he was doing. Had I seen it in time I probley would have got myself arrested trying to beat him to death! It was a pantamine of what a couple of nasty young teens might show off to each other when no adults are around. He was trying to shock everyone who happened to see him looking out the window. What would you all do had you seen it?

The internet.......

The internet is responsible for a lot of this stuff. In second place behind being stupid enough to do it in the first place, that is. Anyway, kids seem to be able to find a million ways to get high on the internet and of course it tells everybody that it's great and won't hurt them. The internet is a valuable tool, but the potential for abuse is tremendous.

First reaction likely would have been to make the hand signal indicating small or tiny and give and give a nod.

Regarding the alcohol fire thing I have seen a couple videos and wonder what these people imagined would happen. I use a blend of isopropyl alcohol and water to set us paper money on fire. If you get exactly the right balance of alcohol to water you get a spectacular flame that burns for a few seconds then goes out leaving the bill total dry and undamaged. Too much water and you get weak flame and wet bill. Too little water and you get bigger flame and the bill ignites. Also have to be carful not to set you container on fire or make it worse by doing something stupid trying to put that fire out. I always used some sort of pliers or tongs to hold the bill to avoid any part of my body being close enough to get burned.
In at least one video, even though the dumbarse was in the shower when he did it, the shower must not have been on and he likely didn't expect to set his shorts on his leg ablaze.
