A guy called me last week looking for a portable propane heater and said his house was too cold. I never owned one and called around with no luck. He decided to go to the casino to get a room as they have their own power supply and hotel to keep warm. I don't remember him ever having a job and his mother died a few years ago and left him money and a house. I found out over the weekend he hit a $100000 jackpot. The cold spell got him on his feet.----I forgot to mention he was on food stamps.:)

It has been chilly here in Reno but it will drop big time on Saturday and the fire will be lit, for sure to hep out the oil heater!!

Noticed all the snow around town, on the higher mountains today, as I was shopping and driving around.

Went to three stores and none had Electric blakets to replace ours that is going on the fritz. Ross, Kohl's and Walmart.
Can you beleive that ? !

Last year we bought a nice electric blanket, then one night I saw sparks in the blanket. It makes a good addition to the cold weather covers, but not as a electric blanket.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

I feel your pain, like the undeserving people that keep winning the Powerball instead of ME. :D

Back around 2004 I went to a casino in Biloxi with my friend Leland (RIP). He was playing a quarter machine and had put about $40.00 in it and didn't win anything so he moved to the machine right next to it. A few minutes later an elderly lady comes in, sits down at the machine Leland had vacated, and on the second pull she won over $11,000. Leland was not happy. After they take the taxes out of that 100 grand he might be able to afford a new car, but not much more. It won't be long before he doesn't have to figure out what he is going to do with it. It may even knock him out of some of his benefits.

$100,000 pre tax don't go as far as one would think. Me, if I won a 100k slot jackpot (which would never happen since I don't play the slots), I'd pay the taxes and use what was left over for a down payment on a new Suburban
