Hello everyone, i have just recently sold my SW40VE(just bought 2weeks ago) and i've found that the SD40 is almost identical and is only $40 more so i just had to get me one! So far i like the feel of the grip more i think its just a tad bit smaller but nothing nobody can get used to, plan on goin to the range today to test out some ammunition(winchester, blazer) to see how will it feeds.

I haven't owned one in a while (I bought a SD9 right after they came out, and then sold it) but I bought a new SD9 yesterday. I forgot how good this pistol feels in the hand, and the trigger is nothing like I remember my earlier one being...it feels very comparable to my M&P pistols. I haven't shot it yet, just dry firing it...but it does feel a lot better than I remember!

What range do you go to? Now that the new laws have passed there, I'll bring my guns when I come home to visit my relatives.

Is there still a range at Big Creek? My Mom and sister still live in DSM. I was hoping with the new law that at least one range would open up in the city.

Yes the one near big creek state park is the olofson range about 3-4miles up the road from there

When you guys use your practice rounds and home defense rounds for your firearm, is it better to stick with the same grain weight??

I do. I was told it's a good idea and agree. I had some 165g FMJ and some 180g and could tell the difference. Since I carry 180g for SD in my Sigma, I only buy 180g FMJ for the range.

My 'practice' varies all over the map. I try to shoot a variety of calibers and bullet weights. Since I am not trying for any top score, I consider it a good day when I place all of my shots on a pie plate sized target area at 5-10 yards, with any gun of any caliber and loaded with whatever is in it, and within a reasonable time. I don't want to have to think too hard, I just want to be able to shoot.
