Outer Banks...Tuna?

I love pier fishing at the Southeast coast, offseason when their not that crowded...this one has me hankering for a road trip. Bluefin Tuna off the pier.

I have hooked Tarpon from piers a bit south of this location, and that was a hoot...but this is just amazing.

I’ve fished for Blue Fin Tuna going out from the Outer Banks a couple of times in the 1990’s. We had a great time and caught a lot of fish, but had to ride out in the boat for at least a couple of hours. Catching one from the pier would be fantastic!

Closest fishing to that was in Hawaii. Chartered a boat with another guy. My son landed a smaller marlin. I hooked a larger one but it threw the hook at the boat. Best fish dinner I have ever had.
