I know I know, seems like there is a million threads on what holsters to get. Asking 10 people usually results in 10 different answers, but I will try and narrow it down for you guys.

I have the M&P 9 full side and M&P Shield and I am just not able to get a lot of comfort when going OWB. I tend to wear semi tight fit wranglers (not the stereotypical tight ones but not standard baggy loose ones either) which causes the gun to really be sucked in tight and angled in towards my body especially combined with a sturdy leather belt. Mixing that with wranglers fitting pretty high up on the waist already, it just bugs me even more. AND no I do not want to buy different clothes or wear something different.

So my requirements are OWB, NOT worried about printing or being able to be concealed. Strictly comfort and hopefully angled and actually moved away from the body some.

Prefer kydex instead of leather.

Should I look to more of a paddle system or maybe a locking system on a heavy duty belt?

Also would be nice to be easily removable without having to take off the belt so would an als or mls type system be a good idea?

Just getting your thoughts and is a little different than most of the threads because im more concerned with comfort and a locking release type system vs being in tight and concealing.

Should I possibly look into a heavy duty shooting belt?

Thanks

Thanks for all your help guys. Mushki yours definitely looks like a good product for the money and if someone is trying to get by with a good well rounded piece for a good price.

I think I am going to go with the Safariland 6365. It is more expensive but I think it is a top notch piece and I am really liking the ALS system set up with the level 3 retention.

Model 6360 ALS® Level III Retention? Duty Holster | Safariland?

I appreciate your help NCW Ray.

I think I am going to either buy the kit add ons like the " T spacers" to adjust it out or the "Roller" kit which not only spaces the gun away from your hip but also and angle it one way or the other for your liking. Again a more expensive route but top of the line equipment.

Probably going to go with the light option for the full-size. I don't see this listed for the Shield so I guess I will have to find a different model for that but at least the good thing about this model is even if you take the light off, the same holster will still work on that particular gun. Seems like a win win to me.

Panther Concealment Custom Kydex Holsters and Knife Sheaths
Belt is a must on any OWB.
Description: a cross between a traditional paddle and a pancake holster. You get the convenience and speed of the paddle, but the conceal ability of a traditional belt-slot pancake.

The 638 is pocket.

I have 3 guns, 3 panthers. 'nough said

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

I did just place an order through bullhidebelts, so hopefully that should take care of my gun belt problem lol.

I know you said you would prefer kydex but I suggest you take a look at the Simply Rugged Cuda holster. It's an OWB holster and I find it very comfortable. I would suggest a good Wilderness 5 stitch belt to go with it.
