Ok, so I've pretty much made up my mind that I'm gonna buy a Sig .45. Either the standard P220 or the P220 Carry. I'm leaning towards the slightly shorter Carry model.
When I start researching a new purchase, I try to look into everything I'll need, including holsters. So far I'm not having any luck finding a holster for the shorter gun. So what's the point in having a more compact pistol if you have to carry it in a holster meant for the full sized gun?
What I want: OWB, Avenger style and good quality made specificly for the shorter Carry model that I can buy off the shelf.
Yes, yes, I'm very much aware that I could have one custom made and that there are several good people right here on this board. BUT, I don't want to wait months for it and while I probably will carry the Sig some, I seriously doubt it will replace my Commander for EDC. So let's just not go there, ok?
So, anybody out there got any suggestions?

That is a VERY tough request to fill.

I am not aware of anyone making an "off the shelf" Askins Avenger style holster for the P220R Carry.

Since the Avenger is not a concealment holster I guess they figure the users will go for the longer barrel.

I will be sitting with the folks from Galco in about 3 weeks. I will bring it up.

I own both a 220 and a 245. I have kydex paddle holsters for OWB carry, the length is such that the muzzle of the 220 sticks out about 3/8". For concealed IWB I use a simple leather holster in the 4:00 position. I also like the Galco "Small Of Back" holster. I have them for the Sigs and 1911's, and found full sized or Commander/Carry sized guns work great in the same holster. I don't like "Middle Of Back" style holsters, as the muzzle "sweeps" my strongside kidney when drawing!

I'd get the standard 220.

The Slide Guard from High Noon Holsters and the 55BN from Milt Sparks are great and hard to beat.

I guess not too many people carry the Carry;) There's about a bazillion leather holsters for small revolvers and 1911's but not much out there for Sigs. Plenty of plastic holsters though. I had a 220 for awhile and finally gave up on finding a decent leather holster. Didn't want to wait 3 months for a holster I couldn't see or try on. Just sold it and bought a 1911.

I hope you have better luck than I did.

I got no more use for a plastic holster than I do for a plastic gun. ;)

Yeah, I been searching all over the web and still haven't found anything for the Carry Model. Might as well just buy the full size gun. Lots of nice holsters out there for it.
