Has anyone else had issues with the fit of Pachmayr Gripper grips on Round Butt J Frames?

I bought a set for my Model 60-15 round butt. The grip would not "close" on the trigger guard side and at the bottom. I got a replacement set. This set closed better on the bottom, but still did not close on the trigger guard side.

I have Grippers for various N and K/L frames (round and square butt) and never had this problem.

While the pic is not of the grips on my gun, it shows the issue with the grip not closing all the way.

Anyone else had these issue?

Thanks!

I don't see the issue in your photo. But why would you want grips that large on a J Frame? Have you considered the Compacs?

If you look closely at the inside and bottom of the grips, they don't come together. A significant opening is left.

I prefer a 3 finger grip on my J frame. The Compacs don't cut it for me.

I tried one set of Pachmayr's on my 637. Didn't like the feel. They closed up ok, so don't know about your problem. Went to the Hogue 60000 for my stainless J's. Only wood grips on my vintage 36 and 38...

I would probably be better if I said nothing, but I have just never been a fan of Pachmayr grips, specifically the fit, or lack of good fit.

Wonder if the cut out on the inside of the grips is not too shallow or slightly off the mark?
The grip has to fall in line with the... shoot, lack of nomenclature is going to make this challenging... pin (?) that is set into the grip frame?

Holy smokes, does that make sense?

I like the Pach Pro Compac for K and L frames.... ugly, yes, but leaves the backstrap exposed and is almost like a boot grip, without finger grooves.
