Gentlemen, not sure where to post but thought this best. Although not for sale at this time, I was curious what the opinion is on leaving the subject stocks sealed as "collectibles" or using them on an appropriate revolver "in need" of them. In other words, are they worth more as is, or with the %10 rule can they really benefit the value of a revolver in excess of as packaged.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

They do bring some heathy bids on the auction sites. I remember them hanging is gun and sporting goods shops with dust on them , marked down to 10-15 bucks and they just hung there. After the Herretts ,Pachmayrs , Hogues and other aftermarket grips became widely available , nobody wanted the standard grips on a S&W. The Magnas were too small , those too big. Gun shops had boxes of like new , original S&W take-off stocks.

Keeping them sealed in the packaging will bring a lot more were you to sell them, particularly on the auction sites.

Thanks gentlemen. Just to help further illustrate here are a couple of shooters as received. One a 8 3/8" 57 (PR) the other a 25-5. I see no merit to adding the subject grips to something like this, agreed? BTW, does anyone recognize the wood grips on the 25-5?

Ed, you're right, you'll likely find the grips already on the guns preferable for shooting. The wood grips appear to be Eagle (Art Jewel Enterprises) brand grips.

I'm in the same boat with these K Square Butt Combats. They would look great on one of my guns but I can't bring myself to open them.

I think it best that you would sell them to me for the price marked
on the packaging. That would eleviate all your problems with said
grips. Just a thought....
