Have been holding 22rimfire silhouette shoots monthly for a number of years(a family activity with my church). However, most are just recreational/casual shooters(most use my guns/ammo), so this is just too hard for most. Going to a rimfire challenge format in the spring. Bought the above timer to use. Is it going to pick up shots from 22lr rifles?
Thanks

Rifles can be a problem, specially if they're shooting std velocity ammo. Hold the timer out nearer the muzzle. Hold it low, below muzzle level it stays out of sight to the shooter but out kinda at arms length. Make sure the mic is aimed at the muzzle and that you're not covering it with your hand/fingers. I RO rimfire steel matches regularly and this is what we do. Some ROs get a bit squeamish about this but behind the muzzle is a safe area.

Outdoors is easiest to get good timer readings. Indoors can be a juggling act getting times without timing echoes.
