Paddle Holster for 438/638?

I like a paddle holster better than belt slides or IWB
holsters. Easy on easy off. Trouble is you can't find a
good one. I like a holster that you can take off easy.
Most of them today have notches that catch your belt
and want let it come when you want it to. I have a
old leather holster that is lined with suede and the
paddle has suede on it. There is no name on it so
I don't know who made it. The paddle has no notches
just suede to keep it in. I have never had any trouble
with it wanting to come out on it's own. You might
try to get someone to make you a holster. Don

Take a look at the Galco variants --- they're first rate in quality, and I think probaly the best of the "paddle holster" alternatives, never mind that I'm not especially fond of the firm's borrowing other makers' designs.

My wife uses the Fobus and I have a Davis leather holster that has a leather paddle that works just fine and is very comfortable. I use it primarily for a J frame .22. It's a good looking rig and reasonably priced.

Here is photo of one had made for my mdl 36 in about 1975. A City Policeman was a holster maker. Had to leave the gun with him for shaping. Think he charged me $12 for the holster and $3 for a matching ammo strip carrier

The Kramer MSP is probably the best paddle out there these days but it will cost you. Paddle holsters are very comfortable but do not offer good concealment.

Thanks

I liked the DeSantis and the Fobus. I have purchased a DeSantis NYPAD. Think it will be easier on the gun's finish than the Fobus. Thanks, David
