Never heard of Panasonic automotive batteries, sounds like they got that one right. Have another good battery story to add. My father bought a Suzuki 230 four-wheeler new back in 1989. It had a Yuasa battery, was in it and still working good when we sold it back to the same dealership in 1999.

batteries are just like cars...if u maintain them, they will last a long time. i work as a tech for chrysler and it really gets to me when someone comes in with a mopar battery and after one year its bad and they complain about it. When i open the hood, the battery is dirty and alot of corrison build up is present. keep your batteries clean and always apply battery terminal protector every 6000 miles and it will last you a very long time.

Bought a Toyota 4X new in '87, had a Panasonic. Did allright, but I change batteries every 5 years regardless. Less taxing on the alternator, because they do develope a resistance with use before it goes completely.

My Miata had a Panasonic no-maintence battery in 1991. They were in the trunk, so probably the reason for a sealed, no maintence battery. The original lasted for years and years. The replacements, not nearly as good or as long. I have often suspected batteries destine for new cars are built somewhat differently than the rest, or am I just paranoid?
