Does anyone know or have experience with buying individual parts from Smith, for the new "Classic" line? I saw some new .45 ACP cylinders in Shotgun News here awhile back; I only assume these were from the new 22-4 and 1917 production runs. The last time I checked with Smith they didn't seem too receptive to selling individual parts. Perhaps it was only the person I spoke with that day. Anyhow I have had some custom project ideas rolling around in my head, and wondered if anyone had luck in buying new parts from S&W; barrels, cylinders, etc. Thanks!

I've bought parts from S&W for years. They're usually friendly, helpful and quick to ship. Unless you want IL parts, of course. It's best to have a part # ready to go, but they'll help you there, too. Just call them and tell the switchboard you want revolver parts.

The old style hammers have dried up from the factory...Jack First Gun Parts has a lot of parts and are good to deal with. Brownells and MidwayUSA have a lot of Smith parts, but they will be the new style parts.
