Well, my Dad, Pops, The Old Man, passed this AM, peacefully in his sleep. Two weeks short of his 96th B Day. He was very sick and was really tired of it. He is with the LORD now. Richard. He was a US Navy vet. Was in boot camp when WWII ended, so was a WWII vet. He was a gunner's mate on a tanker, a cruiser, and 2 carriers. Served in the Japan Occupation and then China Service. Had some great sea stories, esp. China. Seven years all together. Including Korea. Planes from his big carrier hit the bridges at Toko Ri. Thought me to throw a ball, shoot a gun, and drive a car, in that order. In a pretty weird mood right now.

Our condolences to you and your family
Sounds like he led a great long life, cherish the memories

Lost mine a few years ago and I learned it doesn't matter how old you are it's a very hard time for all, I truly never knew what people go through until it happened to me so I feel for you... Grief is the price we pay for love.

While loss of a loved family member is always difficult it sounds like your dad has finally received his well deserved rest from this life that he apparently desired, we should all rejoice in that! You will obviously miss him, but be glad for him. He left this world in the easiest way possible, he was truly blessed!

Sorry for your loss. Your dad sounds like quite a guy and had a good run. May he rest in peace.
