Since I grew up in the 1940s-50s UK I read Tom Brown's School Days quite a few times. Flashman "Ascended" from those books and having travelled (courtesy of Uncle Sam) in some of the areas portrayed in the Flashman series, very entertaining to reread them. I still have 8 of them. Dave_n
