I've got a line on one of the later production Performance Center 1911s.
I can get it for $1,100, OTD.

What say ye?
Is that a good price?

I'd say condition is near excellent.
I can't find any wear marks except on the barrel, and it's not a lot.

TIA,
-Bill

That seems to be a fair price for the pistol. Hopefully it has its original magazines with it as well. It appears to be in very good overall condition.

Yes, it has the original (2) magazines.
The trigger is excellent, the slide-to-receiver fit is as tight as any high-end 1911 I've ever handled, and the stiff ambidextrous safety needs to be "broken-in."

I'd like to hear from anyone who has owned one near the UFB serial number range.

Yes, that's a fair price. Offer $900 and I bet he takes it.

From what I gather, that should be the deciding factor -price.
Reading older posts regarding this era of the "Performance Center" guns, I see a mix of love and, well… hate for anything after JMB, JM*, etc.
I get it. The Performance Center moniker is so much marketing, anymore. Still, except for the FLGR, I like it, and that can be swapped out.
I think this will shoot very well for a > or < $1,000 gun.
I have it on hold in the back of the store while I think about it.
Thanks for your responses.

Slightly earlier but same idea. It's the most accurate 45 I've ever owned, and I have owned a few.

Mine has a UCW prefix. I bought it new but I couldn't tell you what it cost - $1,300 maybe? But it's an accurate shooter with my cast semi-wadcutter handloads. It developed that same scuffing of the barrel hood's black finish so I just polished it off in the area of the ejection port.

MEH?
These are still great guns, hand fitted in the PC by skilled craftsmen, they are fitted to higher level than the production line guns. I have both and there is a discernable difference when comparing them. I believe the 1911PC MSRP is around $1,800 with tax now, so ~$1k is certainly a fair price if in new condition.
In comparison, if you ordered the equivalent to the PC's features and upgrades on a 1911 from one of the boutique mfgrs you'd pay $4k or more and wait a year to get it.
