Being the invenerate tinkerer that I am, I am seeking options to replace the "Millet" dovetailed front sight on a 627 PC Bloodwork. Internet searches are not proving very fruitful...yet. The sight picture is "okay" but I personally would be happier with either gold bead or considering this gun's build, tritium dot front.

Have checked XS systems but this specific model, nor the 629 PC, 657 PC, etc. are listed. Also checked Novak's, Cylinder/Slide, etc. Have not spoken to anyone's techs yet, just browsing the web. Interested in either putting a gold bead with Bowen's V notch rear or same rear with tritium dot. Bowen's could probably do it...for half the cost of the revolver :) . NOT looking to go that route.

Any solutions you folks can offer that you've done, seen, or heard of? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Tim,
Most manufacturers do not specificly list firearms that only are limited productions of 200, 300, 500, etc. They list production guns that are manufactured for years and decades.

1st option. Call the company and talk to them. You might be surprised at how much some of them know outside of what is on their website.

2nd option. Measure the dovetail and order the sight. I buy lots of sights from Brownells

3rd option. Remove the existing front sight and send it out to have a tritium vial installed.

4th option. Give it to a gunsimth and let him handle it for you.

I put three dot night sights on my 5" 627, but it uses the S&W IFS.

Tim,

in addition to the fiber optic installation with Pinnacle (which I mentioned in your other post), if you want a tritium option using a 'stock' sight, contact tool tech at tooltechgunsight.com to see if they can help you out.

Tool tech is the gunsmithing arm of Trijicon and they do alot of custom tritum vial installations for the various brands of sights on the market. They are not cheap.

I've sent them 10-8 U-notched sights for tritium vial installations in yellow for several guns. Make sure you measure the width of the front sight and ask them if it can be done.

Good Luck!

Dave.

You guys have to stop mucking about and tell me what you REALLY think. Keeping it all in will just hurt YOU. :)

Thanks again Gents.

I'm really new to S&W and to this site so I apologize if this is poor form but THAT IS ONE SWEET HANDGUN! Thanks for taking the time to reply and post that beautiful pic.
