First trip to the range since changing out my Carry Comp striker block. The Carry Comp shoots well and is accurate. The trigger is now very smooth with a crisp break. The first pic shows my last 3-shot group at 7 yards when zeroing the optic. The shot group was actually touching which is more a credit to the gun than my 79-year-old hands and eyes. The second pic is a just-having-fun target – something over 100 rounds, a lot of rapid fire (accounting for the wild shots), again at 7 yards.
I also brought my PC Shield Plus with 4” ported barrel. They’re basically the same Performance Center gun with different slide treatments. Firing them back-to-back reinforced how much the same they are. Both are accurate flat shooters with nice triggers, same size and weight. I was not able to feel a difference in the muzzle flip between the compensated and ported barrels. Both shoot flatter than my non-ported guns but there was no clear winner.
So, the question is, is the Carry Comp a significant enough upgrade to warrant the purchase if you have a PC Ported Shield Plus? At this point, except for the looks, I believe I would have to say no.
