I recently purchased a Pelican Vault case to carry five of my revolvers. It is not the pick and pluck foam but the regular solid foam. The pistols have formed a nice imprint but I don't know whether to store them in there for more than a couple of days. How about if I lined the foam with nice smooth micro fiber cloths? Thanks.

They should be fine for years in that case. Remember with blued guns not to have the interior too tight for the case to close easily because the bluing can become worn on high spots.I damaged a perfectly nice model 19 by doing that years ago.

It is very tight. I was hoping was like memory foam. I will take one layer out if I need to. Thanks.

Just be careful about any moisture or high humidity getting into the case. any of that foam holds moisture and can transfer to the guns. Even silicone impregnated Sack-ums have been known to have damaged gun's when moisture becomes involved.

I would no more store a blued gun in a case like that than fly to the moon. You are asking for trouble. In my opinion, the optimal method is in a breathable sock safely locked away. You will note the many number of perfect guns that have lives their entire life nestled in with the underwear, socks and such.
For short term storage ans travel, there is nothing better than a Pelican case. I just would not trust them for long term storage
