Is there a group that appreciates the nice patina revolvers or does that just mean it’s worn out in most revolver lovers eyes? Some of these older patina guns look pretty cool, like the patina on an old truck or hot rod. In my opinion if you find an old revolver that has great action, lock up and timing, then the patina it took 75 years to get can be pretty dang cool. For the record I’m not talking about bad rust or pitting. Just a genuinely worn finish. I’m sure in the purest collector world it’s devalued greatly. But for us average Joes I like them.

Let me see. Your description covers about 90% of my collection. I favor guns that were used in their intended purposes... like cop guns from the 1930's. Let's keep those for ourselves! Can't say I don't like the "new old stock" lood (and I have a few of those" but my favories always seem to be thos old working guns. JMHO

This Heavy Duty was carried by a King County deputy sheriff (Seattle, WA) in the aftermath of the Longshorem's violent strike in the 1930's. The front sight has been modified.

I've got a thing for jigged bone. Sometimes I think the reason more people don't have a thing for jigged bone is because it's uncommon enough they have never had the pleasure of shooting a gun wearing a set of good (actually artful and well made) jigged bone.

Or maybe I'm just a weirdo.

It's probably that.
