I have an opportunity to purchase a 460 Airweight 2" that is in beautiful condition and was hoping someone might share their opinion if this a good gun to add to my small P.C. collection.

I don't have any snub's yet but would like to have a couple special ones....so any thoughts.

It's similar to a 442 with porting, 450 reportedly made in 1994. Hard to estimate a value due to limited sales; I think a lot depends on whether it "speaks" to you. If you get it, posting photos of it here is mandatory :). Hope this is helpful.

Wow. When I first saw this thread I thought it was for some exotic 5-shot X-frame Airweight in .460 S&W I'd never heard of. What a monster that would of been.

It's not. It's a J-frame they called The Performance Center Model 460 Airweight, 5-shot .38 Spl, product code 170055. They used serial number prefix SDE for this gun. The one and only I've seen was in a box with the ship date of July 20, 1994. Black aluminum frame, blackened stainless cylinder.

Thinking about his some more, the "SDE" for the s/n prefix must stand for...........

Stocking Dealer Exclusive.

Pretty cool.

I've seen a number of "SDx" s/n's, all from the 1993 - 1995 time frame, but this M460 is the only "SDE" I've seen.

Exactly what I was thinking!
