Performance Center M&P M2.0 COMPETITOR introduction

A 1000 dollar metal frame dressed up m&p with no comp or porting to calm down the snappy recoil those video shooters have .

This pistol is designed for "Carry Optic" division, which prohibits comps or porting. Comps and porting are only allowed In Open Division in USPSA and are completely prohibited in IDPA.
I'm not sure why many non-competitors assume comps and porting are widely allowed in competition.
Carry Optic has quickly become the fastest growing Division in many action pistol games, and this year was the USPSA Division with the most competitors, surpassing Production and Limited.
The S&W Competitor is set up for IDPA Carrry Optic Division, and can be used in USPSA (heavier guns are also legal in USPSA).

I no longer participate in competitive shooting, but this does have some pretty substantial cool factor, at least to me, tempting ......

I know that pistol did not have a comp or porting and it looks foolish the way the slide was milled .

I lost my interest in speed shooting events 40 years ago. Too much of a day waisted for a couple moments for shooting . I've had a training range at home for defensive practice for 40 years
too .

Personally I like it. Even if you don't participate in shooting events there's nothing to prevent someone from buying and enjoying this for regular range shooting.
I like the styling also. I'm surprised that it's only $100 more that the regular 2.0M edition given the extra slide work, the magwell, the longer barrel, and the supposedly better trigger.

Wish they could do the 2 tone for the regular M&P metal. Looks nice. I am sure a quick trip to the PC area and you are good to go.

I just picked mine up this afternoon.

First impressions are positive. The metal frame feels solid in the hand, the palm swells are aggressively textured for a firm grip, and the cuts in the slide allow for easy slide manipulation without chafing my fingers. Trigger break and reset are crisp. The magazines (and it came with four!) drop out very easily, as the release sits very proud of the frame.

I'll have a better sense for how it does after this weekend's range trip, but so far I'm thinking this will be a keeper.

Mike

Just run the 2.0 black slide on the metal.
