Hi, I thinking about purchasing the performance center shield ez 9mm. What issues have others reported? Thx.

I bought my EZ-9 a few months ago and it has been proven to be a very good pistol. Shoots all the 9 mm ammo I've tried and is real nice for racking the slide. It shoots real well and mags hold 8 rounds + the one in the chamber.

It holds up to it's advertising. I've had a few friends buy them since getting mine. I let them try it and they are convinced.

Got one for my wife. Beautiful handgun. Really easy to operate the slide and to load the magazines. Phenomenal trigger. Excellent sights. Shoots like a dream. No mailfunctions so far. Three things:

1. The grip safety is totally ridiculos. It does not depress fush with the grip and has sharp edges. It totally prevents achieving the right grip without making the shooter really uncomfortable. It's been pointed to SW by all reviewers and private owners and they still do nothing about it.
2. Read the manual before disassembly and reassembly!!!!!!!!!
3. The gun comes bone dry from the factory and needs lubrication.

If not for grip safety design I would call it the best handgun lately produced by SW. Some people have their grip safety replaced with the polymer ones from regular 9mm EZ. I am thinking of doing the same...

My wife, who currently carries the .380 model, is interested in buying one of the ordinary 9mm EZs.

She likes the .380 model a lot due to a wrist problem which makes it difficult for her to manipulate the slides on her other pistols, but the reliability of the .380 isn’t what that of a carry gun should be.

Good thing she’s proficient with clearing stoppages.

I hope the reliability of the 9mm exceeds that of the .380.

9mm ez sharp grip safety

The sharp grip safety on the 9mm ez Performance model has a vey simple fix. The grip safety is aluminum and a couple of strokes with a fine file, emery cloth, sandpaper is all that is needed to solve the problem. I used a fine sandpaper block on my grip safety, a couple of strokes and now it's perfect.

Anyone have a schematic or parts diagram. I took out the performance hand grip safety and put in a polymer one. I am having problems getting the thumb safety and hammer assembly back in correctly. There is a small spring and two metal pieces that are giving me trouble

Where did you get a polymer grip safety?

Anyone talk to S&W about replacing the PC Grip Safety with the polymer version one?

I have the silver accents and would like to improve the hand grip safety but keep the color. Anyone know how I can do this?
