Never puta you name on thingsa that could be used aftera they are a stolen and could be lefta at crime scenes. Capiche paisano???? But seriously, NO.

White Paint Pen. Tried label maker to much of a pain to print so many.

You mean you are not supposed to etch you SS# name, address and DOB on them?

Curious... what markings are you guys putting on your magazines?

Small patch of thin masking tape; keeps the marker ink a lot longer than on the mag itself.

If using multiple magazine, it's useful to number them to keep track of round count (for maintenance or replacement), and in case there are failures that might be magazine related, easier to determine which.

I mark mine to know what gun they go to, in separate boxes by caliber. Real pain to sort through x number of mags to find the right ones.

I mark mine with silver Sharpies, it eventually wears off, but it's easy enough to redo them. As you can tell from my photo, I'm not much into aesthetics.

Ah... OK - that makes sense. I only have 3-5 mags per pistol and I do try to rotate. I guess if I ever have a problem with a bad magazine, it will be the flat one with the boot-print on it. :)

I put my name on them. I do a lot of training and go to a lot of training classes. I mostly shoot a 1911 so, mags are similar and common.

Anyone that's worried about some criminal getting a hold of one of your mags, using it in a crime and then being implicated in that crime and sent to prison because of it, has been watching too many movies.

MAGAZINES

I am in major doubts that I would go to jail because a magazine was found with my name on it-- However, I am pretty much a magazine freak-- in that I believe in having at least 10 magazines for any semi-auto I might have. Double so for the hi cap ones. I have some old H&K pistol boxes that I aquired some years ago, knowing I might could use them 'some'day' That being the case, many contain extra magazines. I do rotate them, but I don't mark them in any way. I DO have some that are numbered for my MDL 52, but they came that way. :)

I used to mark the base plates with a permanent sharpie but since gotten away from doing it. After the mags have been fully loaded for a week or 2, I'll either switch mags or guns. I normally group 2 mags together with a rubber band and use them in pairs.

I've replaced a few recoil springs over the years but I honestly have to say I've never replaced a magazine spring on any of my mags.

Cheers!

I modify M16 magazine to fit my AR18 and to mark the AR18 mags, I put a dot of yellow paint on the magazine base so I can tell with a glance I'm grabbing the correct magazine.
