Costs vary by market. Installation quality and issues vary by installer. It took three times for them to get our U-Verse right but now we like it. One of my co-workers just dumped his land line from U-Verse. It was over riding his television signal. I looked at my install and the phone line was separate all the way from the box on the back of the house to the phone modem. His installer was running signal through the same wire. Like I said, your satisfaction will have a lot to do with the technical expertise of the person who does the installation.

Watch out for 'bundle' deals

Watch out for bundle deals from ATT. They always end up costing more than they say they will, when you complain, they will fix you up with another bundle deal that is as bad or worse.

I finally told them that I didn't want ANY of their bundle deals and just give me my land line and internet service, which they did, reluctantly.

My wife and I have done away with our land line and gone to 2 cellular
phones instead and we bundle an internet connection with it.
We also use ATT for TV with a "medium sized" package.
This approach saves us about $185-$200 per month
as opposed to our old land line/cable situation.

My neighbor and another friend both got U-Verse. They both changed back to Time-Warner RoadRunner after a couple of months. Both had serious outage and interruption issues.

Jury's still out on their cable TV service. Some features I like, some I don't. I've only been with them since July. I'm satisfied with the Internet and land line phone. I've used an AT&T no-contract cell phone for years, but am thinking about going to a cheaper plan since I use a cell only for emergencies.

I was very disenchanted when Time-Warner (some people here call it "Slime-Warner") bought our Insight service. I'm paying less for AT&T, with faster Internet and a two-year fixed rate. No doubt at the end of the two years, if I haven't croaked by then, they will attempt to screw me and I'll look elsewhere.

I'm going back to Charter as soon as I catch up on stuff on the DVR. The internet is too slow. Streaming video from Amazon/Netflix is terrible. Raised my bill by $50.00 after first year but couldn't explain why. Don't trust VOIP telephone service. The picture is excellent though.

I have had the complete AT&T Uverse bundle-U200 TV, 5 mbs internet, and unlimited long distance land-line phone, since they first offered it in my area. And I have only one complaint-the price. When I first got it installed, I had a promotional deal that was less than $90/month. Over the years, it has steadily increased at the end of each 1 year term. I'll call, we'll hassle about it, they'll find a slight reduction, but it is still more than the last time. My monthly cost is now $128.85 and I am trying to find a way to drop the TV portion and find a way to connect my LAN wireless internet service to a 'smart' tv so I can watch live broadcasts in real time with no delay. I haven't figured it out yet, but if and when I do, I'll drop the TV, as I only watch about 10 channels, and those sporadically, and the rest is just garbage to me. Anyone know how to do what I am suggesting?

Thanks everybody! Now I have to filter through all this and see if I can find something actually worthwhile.

I've had AT&T package since Oct. last year. The installer was great. Have 300 package no land line and the Internet an tv are wireless to the whole house. Tv picture is great Internet is great and cell is flawless. I set outside with my IPad if I want. DFW area of Texas. $201.06 a month. Tht is the only draw back.

We switched to Uverse about two weeks ago from dish.
So far the TV is a better quality picture and no issues with service.
We also have no land line phones but do have the DSL hi speed internet and all our cell phones (4 me wife and kids) are AT&T.
Price wise it is about 25 a month less than we paid dish for more channels

Another UNHAPPY VICTIM of AT&T

ATT will never see another dime from me.

Another UNHAPPY VICTIM of AT&T.

Couple of weeks ago a lady friend got royally ripped off by a lowlife AT&T slimey salesman. She wanted to add a home phone in addition to her cell phone. He sold her on some type of "wireless home phone system" that does NOT use the copper land line. Just plug it into electric outlet and it pulls signals out of the air - that is here explanation of the sales pitch.

The Royal Reaming Ripoff was the change to her cell plan. Slimey changed her from UNLIMITED minutes to 200 per month. She would be using the home system and would not need so many cell minutes.

BUT the new 200 minute cell plan did NOT include any FREE Night and WEEKEND minutes. Slimey denies misrepresenting anything. In two weeks her charges are far greater than her previous UNLIMITED plan.

This experience was with the Benton KY office and has not been resolved to date.

I get about 40 channels using a digital antenna here in Chattanooga. The high def 1080 channels are outstanding... Look better than Comcast high def.

There's an FCC website that you can enter your address and it will show signal strength from broadcasters in yor area.
