Howdy fellers,

I've owned many, many cradles for holding my electronic devices in my trucks and autos.

Most were of the 'suction' mount which would usually only adhere securely to the vehicles windscreen. I tried a couple w/sticky adhesive to the dash area, but the sunshine in the summer would always cause it to release.

I acquired a 'Galaxy S-3 Note' recently and it's HUGE when compared to other devices, more like a 'Phablet'. Combined with an 'Otter Box' Defender, it also weighs quite a bit.

Found this cradle on Amazon, read the reviews and thunk I'd give it a try.

All it is, is a powerful magnet w/thin metal plates included to adhere either inside or outside the device's case to attract the base unit's magnet.

The suction cup itself is sticky rubber (similar to the old gumball toys back in the 60's-70's) which allows it to suction to practically anything, textured or not. Like dashboards or consoles, it doesn't require glass to suction very securely.

Just thought I'd pass my experience along. I likey lots.

DANGER!!!!!!!!!

DANGER***Be very careful with powerful magnets around electronic devices with memory chips inside. The magnetic field can alter/wipe out the data stored in these chips, and possibly screw up the operating systems, since everything depends on stored data to function.

Timely thread. I currently have a HTC Rezound and I'm using a "Stealie" magnet mount to hold it on the dash. I've had no problem with the OS or memory from the magnets.

I'm considering getting a Note 3 when my contract is up and have been looking for ways to mount it in my truck. With the metal plate, not the magnet on the phone, there should be no worries about data loss.

BTW, they get great reviews on line and a couple of friends of mine have them and rave about them. One person also uses the Otterbox and is very happy with it.

All-weather industrial Velcro.
Hooks on the dash, loops on the phone (so it doesn't snag on stuff)
I use it in my old Jeep because there is zero storage space for anything.
