Picasa used to have a photo collage feature where you could drag and drop digital images onto a screen, arrange them in any order and adjust their relative sizes. The feature is no longer available. What I would like to do is create images with the firearm and with smaller inset pictures showing things like logo close ups, sights, patent dates on hammers, and those types of features.

The only photo editing software I have found so far has the collage templates pre-set in terms of numbers of photos, their arrangements on the screen, and their sizes. Or they have text added to the layout templates to make holiday greeting cards, vacation collages and those kinds of things.

Can anyone recommend a software program that is more user flexible, and preferably a free download ? Thanks

hmmmm? Not sure what you are looking for beyond your post but-- Here is one I did a LONG time ago-- trust me, it was a struggle because I was new at all this. I am not much better even today, but I would think it might work for what you describe you wish to do. -- Now, a collage would be a different animal in my book--I would like to do Print with several flowers in a 2x2 format, but have yet to figure this out. That old program you speak of would do the trick for that-- Wonder where I might find one?? ipernity, or Flickr? Haven't found it yet. :( Anyway, here is the photo I was talking about. After I posted a photo of the gun, someone wanted to see the front sight better. I came up with this. :)

MS-Paint, which comes bundled with Windows software, will allow you to superimpose one picture onto another. I've used it from time to time and it's fairly intuitive to use. A little thinking about how to do it creatively will allow some good effects. Nice thing about it is that it's free, and it comes in handy from time to time.

If it would only come for a MAC-

Thanks Lou, that's they type of photo collage that I would like to do. I'm downloading a trial version of Photoshop Elements now to try it.

This post got me to thinking, hard to do by the way- so today I did some foolin around with CS6-- came up with this-- this is a long standing request from Mama so I will wrap it after framing and it under the tree. May have to do another with different flowers. :) Print is 12" X 18"
