I decided I needed a new 22 to plink with and maybe for squirrels. I had it narrowed down to three choices:
1. HK 416D
2. S&W Performance Center 15-22
3. Savage Mark II TRR-SR
I eliminated the HK because it looked like a pain in the butt to disassemble for cleaning.
That left the Smith and the Savage. I decided to leave the decision up to my son. He already has a 15-22 so he decided on the Savage.
Here is how it sits so far:
It has a Nikon 4.5-14x40 buckmaster in Millet rings and a set of Harris bipods.
Here is my best group of the day. It shoots better than I can.
I was actually aiming for the hole. The shots were taken at 50 yards from the prone position. I have breathing problems and prone is pretty hard on me.
Overall, I'm happy with it. Some more trigger time and a can and its ready to go.
And, my son absolutely loves it. So much for my 22 ammo
