I found a 66 no dash this week. It has the original stocks, but no box. Gun is in fantastic condition. No scratches on the gun or the stocks. In fact, the gun looks like it has been fired very little. The lockup is solid, so I am told. The guy is asking $600. It is a four inch model. I about crapped my pants when I saw it, as it is not a gun that you run across everyday. He said someone else was coming to look at it, so I blurted out that I would pay full asking price for it. Getting up in a few to drive the 100 miles to go see it in person. How bad a deal do you think $600 is for an original four inch no dash?

Pricing is somewhat dependent on geography, but I think at 6 bills for a no dash in the indicated condition you are fine. Not a steal without a box and papers, but a solid purchase.

"If I had known then..." thirty years ago when police trade-ins of the first batches of Model 66s were common, nobody put a premium on ND, -1 or -2 variants, they were just working revolvers. The ND I bought back then has been shot, carried, rebuilt, and finally converted to 327 Fed Mag. I wish I had known to buy and stash a half dozen or so instead of wasting the $$$ on rent, food, and other frivolous stuff!

$600 is a good price in today's market for a good no dash. If I had seen it first, I would have done the same thing - buy it before someone else showed up with cash in hand. Prices on the pre-lock and especially on pinned & recessed are going up very fast.

That's not a bad price for a great revolver. If the 66 you're looking at has stainless steel sights, it's even better. I have an early 4" no dash that is my absolute favorite to shoot. Good luck!

I think it's a good deal. The guns with no lock and forged steel parts are worth more IMHO. In California, that gun would probably get $1000.

66 no dash 4" box

Hi OP.

Ran into a minty 66 no dash 4" box today. If your new gun has serial number 2K66027, I can "make your day".

I have a 66 ND in 2 1/2" with no box. 600 bucks would not make me part with it. You done good my man.

My 4" 66 no dash is my only birth year gun ('74). It didn't ship with a stainless rear sight but it has one now just because I like the unique look. It's a favorite shooter.

Not a bad price. Just purchased a 66-2 for $525 4 months ago. Not original stocks. Good condition otherwise no box. Got a appropriate manual off eBay $25. Lear owned them at the time so more difficult manual to find

66-2 had stainless sights. They were blued. There is S stamped on bottom of sight indicating stainless part

Probably more like $700-$800 I would think, but ya never know. I would take $1K for mine in a heartbeat. ;)

On my local WTS board it would be gone in minutes @ $600. S&W really got it right with the 19/66.
