I took the Louisiana Shooters Unlimited team to Virginia last week to make a presentation to the NRA Board of Directors in an attempt to get them to pursue getting approval for GI Bill eligible NRA Instructor Training programs nationwide.

LTC Oliver North chairs the board's Military and Veterans affairs committee and wwas instrumental in both getting us the opportunity to present and getting a resolution adopted that makes using the Louisiana Shooters Unlimited model to win such approvals NRA policy. It was LTC North's personal interest and leadership that won board approval for this opportunity for our Vets.

We met Dick Heller, the plaintiff in Heller v. DC at the NRA President's reception. In the pic below, Mr. Heller is about to fall over laughing. I was trying to hand my phone to the guy taking pics when my phone fell to the floor. The pic taker picked up my phone and saw a pre-existing crack in the screen and had a stressed look. I told him that my phone has been dropped more times than a French rifle.

While we were cutting up with Mr. Heller, The head of the Buckeye Firearms Association, Sean Malony, invited us all to dinner. At dinner, we discussed grass roots activism, etc. We were fortunate tomhave that opportunity to get to know the great folks at the Buckeye Firearms Assn and Mr. Heller. The next morning, Mr. Heller offered to take us on a personal tour of DC. Here is a pic of Mr. Heller(center), Rob Null(right), and me standing in the Jefferson Memorial underneath excerpts from the Declaration of Independence.

This next pic is of my team, Rob Null and James Johnson, with Wayne LaPierre as Mr. LaPierre seems to realize that our concept of using GI Bill funding to train NRA Instructors will result in the Obama Administration giving 150-400 million dollars a year to fund pro 2A activities. I had never seen Mr. LaPierre at a loss for words before that moment.

I have a brother in law whose sister worked at Langley, and she spent a lot of time with Col. North. He was certainly the sacrificial lamb for the Iran Contra stuff. She has nothing but respect for the man.
