In respect to our sacred ancestors we need to petition the powers that be to change St. Paul Minnesota back to the original name " Pig's Eye " named after Pierre " Pigs Eye " Parrant who was an illustrious bootlegger and purveyor of illicit whiskey.

An apt name for the city that is home to the legislature and state executives.

We had Pig's Eye beer there for a while.

And the Saints still have a pig as their mascot.

But why pick on Minnesota? They have been relatively harmless of late. I can think of four or five others that deserve to be flogged publicly.

So, what's the origin of "In a pig's eye!"

Pearls before swine!

Or a purse out of a sow's ear?

And I read some have grown upset that Kermit the Frog has apparently taken up with a less chubby junior to Miss Piggy... No kidding. (A trophy piglet, I take it.) Then again, I always assumed Kermit and Miss Piggy's relationship was platonic, but whatta I know....

Hmmm...

I kinda think this may be in reference to the recent decision by the powers that be to change the name of Mt. McKinley to Denali. That's the first thing that came to my mind when reading the OP - based on the way it's worded (reference to ancestors, doing it by petition, etc.)
But I could be taking it wrong.

We somehow have to tie the name change to Pigs Eye Parrants minority status...... Be in fo'sure then....

Pigs Eye beer was slightly better than their Landmark brand, and a far sight better than anything that has come out of Cold Spring brewery, regardless of its name......
