I would like a 1911 type pistol chambered in .357, .44mag. or .500 mag. just as Magnum Reserch has with it´s Desert Eagle. Can you imagine it? Useless? maybe, awesome? you bet!

Don't think the 1911 format will support a .44 Mag or .500 Mag. However, Dan Coonan did produce the Model A and Model B Coonan .357 mag in a 1911 format. The Model A used the swing link of the 1911 and Model B used the hi power method. (I used to own 2 B models) LAR used to make the Grizzley on a beefed up 1911 also. Theres been several single shot conversion utilizing the 1911 frame (Springfield Armory) chambering for the .44 mag. Just read yesterday from the SHOT show that the Coonan is back. A .357 SIG round has nothing on the .357 mag from the Coonan. It would have been real nice to have a Smith auto in .357 Magnum.

I wanna see the primate that can comfortably, and properly, wrap his fingers around a grip filled with .500 magnum rounds.
Even the .357/.44 rounds make the grip monster sized.
I would prefer a new .44 auto round... slightly shorter OAL, heavier brass, and loaded to a higher pressure to compensate for the decrease in case volume.
