Pistol Dueling 1908 Olympics

I ran across this on the Internet and was unaware of it until then. Does any other forum member have additional information on this unusual event?

No actual duels were fought, alas. Rather, contestants shot at a dummy dressed in a frock coat.
The photo you posted is not the Olympics, but in 1909 at Panzer's Gymnasium, Carnegie Hall, 57th St. & 7th Av. in NYC. Established 1899.

Dueling was definitely not for the faint of heart or those with weak convictions. When you know someone is shooting at YOU it makes life changing things go through your mind for sure.

Thanks for the correction and update. That's how the photo I found was labeled. You mean there's stuff on the Interned that's incorrect!!
