We've asked this before, but perhaps some of the newer members may have some novel way or thoughts on different methods of display in a secured area. I'm talking about inside a walk-in gun vault or "fortified" and hardened gun room, not in the family room. Also I would be delighted to see any custom made cabinets that anyone would care to show. Thanks for your consideration. All my best, Joe.

Un fortunately when I built my home I did not install a secure gun room with vault door If I had to do it over I would have. All but a few of my guns are kept in a gun vault.

I bought some black powder guns both 1st and 2nd generation to place around my trophy room. But almost immediately people started picking up un turned guns as well as 150 year old guns and cocking them!

I then went to a lockable 4 sided glass case, won't stop a thief but keeps my friends hands off. Its amazing that some will still ask if they can handle the guns.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the human and governmental environment was such that we could openly display guns in our homes as we wished. Unfortunately, we will probably never see that day again.

I've done this picture before. It is inside my 13x14 vault. Believe me, I would have built it bigger. But my wife was gracious enough to move to this house because of the three hundred new guns!:)

I love what you've done with the place.
You've made great use of a fairly small space.
But what did you do with the pistols?

Smithnut has a sweet drawer set up.....its a piece of art

LOVE that room, did you fortify the walls?

Mitch D,
The top picture shows about half of the pistols (it is cut off at the right side. In the first picture, left of the safe door frame is one of the 40"x24"x72" safes. The other unused safe (that the guns were originally stored in while moving and building of the vault) is in my garage, empty. I bought 160 long gun socks through Cabelas when dad died and I had to transport them from California to Colorado. We kept waiting to be pulled over and asked if there were any guns in the vehicle. By the way, I have over 100 unneeded long gun socks if anyone needs some. The rest of the pistols are stacked in the safe with about 30 long guns. Two walls are basement foundation (no windows) the other two and roof have steel plate with stud walls on both sides.
