Articles like this are not particularly unusual. Pit Bulls are bred for 'gameness' and aggression (so I have read, anyway). I have seen videos of their handiwork, and can only imagine the horror of a pack of them coming after a defenseless person.
I don't necessarily agree with an attempt to ban them, but a dog's breeding is a tough thing to overcome. It can surface at any time.
The level of maturity and responsibility that is needed for owning dogs of this type is often lacking, as evidenced by the many news reports we have all read.
Makes one think twice about not strapping on a sidearm when strolling the neighborhood.
