Just got this little Plano hard case to tote my Shield to the range. Got it from Cabela's for $9.99. Plano® Molded Pistol Case – Black : Cabela's
Seems pretty decent for the price. Fairly solid but you wouldn't expect it to withstand a lot of weight. Has 2 clasps with a good positive snap closure. Looking at the reviews, I see people found that the case was way smaller than they thought it was going to be. Yes it is. It comes in 3 sizes, and the medium just barely fits the Shield and 2nd mag. They call the medium 10" but the label says 9 3/4", and that's the long diagonal. The length where the slide goes as shown in the pic is about 7 1/2". Even for the Shield, I might have gone with the large. Don't know if I like the fact that the hinge can just be popped on and off. I know many of you carry your Shield all the time, but if you need something to take it to the range other than a holster, it gets the job done for ten bucks.
