Please let me know the exact name and dimension of the following threads:

K-Frames:

01: Barrel - thread
02: Sideplatescrew -thread
03: extractorrod - thread


N-Frames

04: Barrel - thread

OK, I don't have the diameters of the barrel shanks for the various frames availble...they are listed here somewhere (think the K frame is 0.540 inches OD[N frame is 0.680?]). All S&W barrels use 36 V profile threads per inch.

Whatever the specs are, the sideplate and extractor rod thread specs are the same for both frame sizes. Note: the yoke retaining screw is hand fitted. Also, depending upon age of the weapon, the extractor rod & extractor change from right hand to left hand threads.

Checked some drawings last night. The actual nominal OD on the threaded part of the barrel shank is 0.542 inches on a K frame, 0.668 on an N frame. 36 V form threads per inch.

The extractor rod on the K and N frame show as different part numbers (diameter?), I'd be shocked if the thread spec was different. One of Brownells books has that thread spec somewhere.
