I'm having a hard time finding something worth watching. :(

Already added one this morning after reading Wyatt's thread about the Boers (Breaker Morant) and I'm hoping the distinguished crowd here can offer their recommendations.

I have no specific genre in mind and trust your judgment. If you liked a movie/show/documentary please share the title.

Thank you!

Cheyenne.
Every episode and every season that's on Netflix. You won't be sorry if you like westerns. :)

Have Gun will Travel, same thing.

Emergency from the early 70's. Watching it made me wanna' become an EMT!

I've about quit watching regular TV now that we have Netflix. All good TV is at least 30 years old anyway!

The Pacific, if you have not seen it.

Magnum PI

Northern Exposure

To name a few we like.

Here's a couple of older black and white war flicks with superb acting and casts that I've always liked seeing:

Paths of Glory - WWI with Kirk Douglas

The Train - with Burt Lancaster. WWII.

Maybe you've already seen them but if not, I'm sure you'll enjoy.

I'm in the same boat as you. Really hard to find something good that I have not seen.

Just returned Flags of our Fathers, Taking Chance (best movie I've seen in a while), The Worlds Fastest Indian (feel good fun movie)

Some other good ones but do not know what you like.

'Wild Wonderful Whites of West Virginia' .... you'll watch it over and over and over.

For real viewing pleasure, make sure you download and watch 'The Dancing Outlaw' and 'Jesco Goes to Hollywood' ....

But if you just want to go straight to pill addicted hillbillies .... 'WWWoW' will do ya juuuuuust fine.

Taken" edge of your seat movie.

Very scary movie. I made the mistake of watching it two days before my 14 year old granddaughter went on a trip to DC.

First time she went any distance without grandpa.

"The Man Who Would be King" Sean Connery and Michael Caine. One of my all time favorites. Two ex English soldiers are taken for gods and decide to play along.

Check out Zatoichi: Vol. 1: The Tale of Zatoichi (1962) and go from there.

Red Dawn - best movie ever

Every vietnam movie, platoon, apocolypse, FMJ, deer hunter... Watch them in a series. I did that once. Would give you vets nightmares probably but its fascinating to me since I was in diapers during that conflict.

I just watched Restrepo, about Afghanistan, interesting...

All these are available streaming.

Wild China: BBC documentary on wildlife/human interaction in China. Some of the most extraordinary photography I've ever seen. 6 episodes.

Auschwitz: Inside the Nazi State. Another BBC documentary; very well researched and presented.

The Thin Red Line. Fictional account of Battle of Guadalcanal. Photography is excellent and battle scenes are gripping.

Sophie Scholl: The Final Days. Dramatized story of one of the few Germans that resisted the Nazis. In German w/subtitles.

Red Cliff/Theatrical Version. Dramatization of events that happened near the end of the Han Dynasty. Directed by John Woo. In Chinese w/subtitles.

John Rabe. True story of a German businessman who intervened in the Japanese persecution of Chinese civilians during the occupation of Shanghai during WW2. In German w/subtitles.

Flame and Citron. Based on the lives of two of the most active Danish resistance fighters of WW2. In Danish w/subtitles.

Pierrepoint. Story of the most famous official UK executioner of the 20th century.

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead; 11:14; Clay Pigeons. Quirky crime dramas that keep you glued to the story line.

Have fun!

Restrepo, Hurt Locker, Slumdog Millionaire, Death Race, Gettysburg, Memphis Belle, The Bucket List, Rookies (tv show), pretty much all the James Bond movies, Stardust ...

Lots of great suggestions, thanks all.

One I recently enjoyed, surprisingly, was "Longshot" with Ice Cube. Rather predictable but the acting decent and the story true. Not a bad football movie.

A big thanks to all from me too, just saved me a lot of time and hassle filling my queue too. I was down to about 6 flix now I will be good to go for a month or two!:)
