Please Help Me Find A Part For My Skilsaw!!

I have a model 77, Type 16 Skilsaw. I need the outer blade clamp/Flange that secures the blade with the blade bolt. It's hard to believe a $5.00 part is rendering a great saw obsolete!!

I need part number "85" from the linked diagram. It HAS to be for a "Type 16", or it won't work!!

So far as known, that part was not used in any S&W handguns.

Check eBay for blade clamp washer, maybe you can match up to one of the listings.

I have two parts saws of different age but both are Skill worm drive. The older one has no type #, the newer one is a type 1, or at least that is all I can make of the tags.

Part 85 will interchange on both ! The bolt threads are different.

It is not unusual for parts houses to have poorly trained minions that will state opinion when in fact they haven't got a clue. The info you got may be from such a person that can not say for sure so he is playing it safe.

Thanks anyway. I think 16's were only made for a couple of years in the mid 80's and then they went to a completely different flange/arbor configuration. I bought it off the clearance rack at sears....with the wrong flange on it.

Thanks Cuss... I ordered a scrap saw on ebay already.... Wonder if you had another saw that showed a partial type number as "1". That flange and washer won't even interchange with a 17 and that was the next type made. I took it up to an authorized Bosch dealer/service near me (Bosch bought Skil and then spun them off...) He's been working on these saw for 40 years and pointed out the difference. Even spent a half hour checking through a barrel of old flange/arbor parts and he couldn't find one..... Thanks anyway though.
