Today seemed like a good one to clean some rifles.
I've been shooting rim-fire rifles a bit more frequently (can't beat the price of the ammunition!) so I pulled them out of the safe and took a few pictures. Hard to beat an overcast day for photography!

My heart has a warm spot for rimfires...

I'd sure enjoy seeing what you folks have tucked away!

Bob

Thanks Mr. F....I do enjoy rim-fires.

canoeguy,
Thanks...it's the only one I own...I acquired it last year after many years of wishing. The lady who sold it to me was very nice and it was much nicer than I could have "lived with". It shoots great!!

irishjig,
Nice family! That J.C. Higgins is is the one I'd pick! Sweet!!

Thanks for sharing.

Bob

That's a nice bunch of really fun guns. I recently bought a used Interarms Gallery .22 for 200 bucks and found it to be the funnest and most accurate gun i bought in I don't know how long! Sometime you have to see the forrest past the trees and appreciate things you take for granted. That's what happened to me anyway.

That Winchester Model 61 looks pretty sweet! Man, I love Winchester .22 rifles....

Nice collection!

Here is my model 52 Winchester, since you love Winchester 22's, it's not rimfire though. Early 50's production, my dad's ROTC and NRA competition rifle. Maybe it is rimfire, I never really noticed, I just buy long rifle ammo. If anyone knows, let me know. I don't have any ammo to look at currently, I don't shoot too often, actually it's been many years.

Winchester 250

Here's my Winchester 250 that my dad gave me back in 1963 when I was 12. My very first firearm and I still enjoy plinking with it.

I don't have a group shot but here are some favorites.

It's not quite a plinker, but...

my Kimber 82G is dead nuts accurate. It will shoot .1" @ 50 yards. And yes, that is a 36x Weaver target scope. It absolutely loves Wolf Match Target ammo.

y'all have seen most of these, but what the heck....

Some very nice .22s....By "plinker" I mean a rimfire, not a level of precision.

Great guns.

I'm a big fan of 22's. Althought here lately, I have been on a 38/357 kick.

007.jpg

1984 Ruger 77/22, 2006 Ruger 10/22 WWS, 1977 Ruger 10/22 DL, 1997 Ruger 10/22 DSP, 1995 Ruger 10/22 DSP, 1995 Ruger 10/22 Laminate stock, Remington 597, Stevens 46, 1982 Marlin 39A.

I've gotten rid of the 597. Nothing wrong with it, it was just sort of boring, and looked out of place with all the wood stocks.

So I replaced it with this one. I wanted one when I was a kid, but my mother was scared of rifles. Shotguns were ok, but no rifles.

Ithaca M-49 single shot (the magazine tube is fake). This one is just fun.

Handguns? Old picture but I've still got most of them. The Ruger MK III was traded off for something else.

And a Colt Frontier Scout from 1967.

I still need a Model 18. :D

I love rimfires and especially old Winchesters. I may have an addiction.

Here is my 69/69A family, 69 dualsight, 69A grooved, 69A match target and 69A junior target shooters special.

Well dang, I'm almost 'shamed to post my paltry little collection after seeing some of these great pictures of some mighty fine rimfires.

I do have a pair to draw to, though.;) I believe the 39A is from 1961 and the Mountie from '62. The longer rifle is the first gun I ever bought with my own money. I was one proud 12 year-old country boy back in '61 when I bought it with money I made selling boiled peanuts.

IMG_2503.jpg

The Mountie was finish-challenged when I bought it, so I had it hard-chromed. I was reminded of this purchase reading the thread about gunshop etiquette. I stood in the background 15 minutes while a fellow traded this gun to my dealer. Immediately when the guy left with his new Ruger, I asked the shop owner what he would take. I got it for $145. That was 12 or so years back.

I have more .22s, including a fine Winchester 9422Magnum, but I just haven't made pictures.
