As a young man an English friend of my grandmother sent me a plum pudding. I loved it. Can anyone reccomend a good store bought plum pudding for the upcoming holidays?

One of the Matthew Walker offerings should work for you and are sold on Amazon.
There are many good Christmas/plum puddings/spotted dicks in stores and online. My mom used to make them.
British pro tip: drizzling warm custard on it always makes a pudding better. Brandy helps, too.

For me.......
I don't have a definative brand but I've lucked out at our larger stores with their xmas offerings and in the 10 to 15 dollar range , (kanadian stores and funds) but the thing that does it for me is the white sauce that mom makes for me to cover it with.
I also have a love of ole bollen at my happiest time of the year, why am I so happy? Because I say merry christmas to EVERYONE just to piss peeps off, Bwahahahahahahahaha.

It’s a dark brown, dense spiced cake with different dried fruit, raisins currants etc.
Quite good.

Cross and Blackwell brand with Brandied Hard sauce. It should be easy to find. You'll have to make the hard sauce. Actually you can skip the pudding and just eat hard sauce.
IMHO: "Plum Pudding" should more accurately be called raisin pudding.

Correct. My understand is that “plum” was just a collective term for dried fruit.

Have you guys ever tasted/tried ole bollen? Basically a yeast infused donut batter that rises then mixed with glazed fruit and deep fried in balls, let cool on a plate and then the finishing touch, sprinkling the still warm balls with icing sugar.
